Wedding FAQs

Performing at weddings is our bread and butter! We love performing for people on the biggest day of their lives; they always make for fantastic nights and we really enjoy it. We put together this handy FAQ page to hopefully give you all the answers you need before enquiring about us for your special day.

What times do you come?

We usually arrive with you by 6.30pm and are on site with you for six hours, taking you up to 12.30am when most weddings usually wrap up! If you need us there for longer, please let us know as we’ll be able to include the extra time as part of your quote.

How long do you play for?

We perform for two hours and this can be split up however works best. We usually recommend 1x45min set, followed by a 1x1hr15 set later on in the night after a bit of a break – this usually results in the busiest dancefloors!

Can you perform our first dance?

There’s no binary answer to this unfortunately. The answer to the question depends entirely what your first dance is. We’re able to learn first dance requests if they’re suitable for our instrumentation and lineup.

Can we meet you before hand?

In a nutshell, no. We’d love to meet all the people kind enough to book us, but our gigging and personal schedules just don’t allow for it, sadly. That being said, all couples who book with us will have direct access to the our amazing management team who will be on hand anytime to answer any queries that you have and get all the logistics in place for you. The week prior to the big day, one of us will give you a call to say hello! We’ll introduce ourselves and go through your booking info to double-check that everything is correct.

Can you perform in the afternoon too?

Absolutely yes! About half of couples that have a band in the evening also hire the musicians for an afternoon acoustic set. This can take the shape of a soloist singer/guitarist or a duo. The afternoon acoustic set lasts 60 minutes and you can schedule it any time from 2pm onwards. You can add this at the time of booking by selecting the option you want on the ‘Afternoon Entertainment’ tab on the booking form.

How long does it take for you to set up?

Assuming we can easily access the venue, set up is very easy and straight-forward. Including a quick soundcheck, the whole thing takes a maximum of 40-50 minutes. We’ll always make sure we disrupt what’s going on as little as humanly possible!

Who will help us get all the arrangements in place for the day?

We made the decision to employ a management team to handle questions, sort any issues and get everything ready for your big day. They’re always at the end of an email to help any way they can, as quickly as possible. At the end of the day, it let’s us concentrate more on doing what we love, which is performing!

We’ve read that some bands don’t let us take photographs of them whilst they’re performing. Is that the case with you?

Absolutely not. Snap away. We’re even happy to pose for you…

Can we use your sound system for speeches?

Speeches usually happen before we’ve arrived, in which case you wouldn’t be able to use our PA system. It’s always worth asking though! If we’re available and it works practically, we’re always happy to help out and let you use our system.

Do you bring a stage and dance floor?

Wedding bands don’t usually bring their own stage or dance floor to their shows. We’re happy performing at ground level, so please don’t feel that hiring a stage is necessary. All we require is a safe, flat and a clear area with a good, solid electrical supply.

How do we get in touch with you if there’s a problem on the day?

It’s rare, but things do sometimes happen on the day of your wedding that are out of your control! That’s why we’ll give you an emergency contact number if you need to get in touch with us. Our management will provide this to you and your venue the week prior to the performance date.

Do we have to have any licenses for you to play?

Any licensing for live music is the responsibility of the host venue, not you. As long as your venue confirms you’re ok to have live music, that’s it – there’s nothing else to worry about!

Hopefully those questions are helpful. As time goes on, the band will add any other questions that they think might be useful to you and other couples.
